Lost L.A. Curriculum Project

With lesson plans crafted around episodes from the public television series Lost L.A., the Lost LA Curriculum Project introduces K-12 students to archival collections and other primary sources of Southern California history. Publicly available to classroom teachers through the project portal, the lesson plans work with California's history-social science instructional framework and align local stories and materials with state educational standards. Topics range from Los Angeles' coded racial geographies to the city's indigenous roots.

Project partners include the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West, Public Media Group of Southern California, UCLA History-Geography Project, and USC Libraries. It launched in June 2019 with eight lesson plans. More are expected soon.
